Weekend Hours for H1N1 Clinic at Moore Elementary School
Polk County Health Department’s H1N1 vaccination clinic at Moore Elementary School, 3725 52nd Street, Des Moines will be closed on Thursday, November 26th and Friday November 27th. However, the clinic will be open on Saturday, November 28th from 10am-1pm. There will be no charge for the vaccinations.
The only people eligible to be vaccinated are:
- pregnant women
- people who live with or care for children younger than 6 months of age
- health care and emergency medical services personnel with direct patient contact diagnosing and treating patients with flu-like illness or direct contact with patients at high risk for influenza
- children 6 months through 4 years of age
- People ages 5 through 64 years of age who have chronic medical conditions, such as asthma, diabetes, lung or heart disease, chronic liver or kidney disease, or are immune-compromised because of cancer treatment or HIV.
- Children under the age of 10 who have already received their initial H1N1 vaccination
Moore Elementary School is located between Beaver Avenue and Merle Hay Road (5 blocks east of Merle Hay Mall) at 52nd and Douglas Avenue. The #6 bus will take you to the school.
Regular clinic hours, (Monday-Friday, 11am-6pm and10am-1pm on Saturday) will resume on Monday, November 30th. Vaccinations are available to eligible people on a walk-in basis.
